The Foremother Journey

The Foremother Journey is a free micro-journaling practice from Brave Sis Project. Twice a week for a year, every Monday and Wednesday, you get a short piece of wisdom from one of a hundred BIPOC Foremothers, and a prompt to write against it.

The hundred women span abolition, suffrage, labor organizing, the civil rights movement, science, literature and art, from the eighteenth century to now. A few are household names. Most are not, and that is the point: the record was never as empty as we were told.

Each entry takes a few minutes. There is nothing to buy and nothing to install. You read the quotation, you read what she actually did, and you answer one question in your own words.

Brave Sis Project builds tools for solidarity, allyship, and unity across difference in this post-DEI era. The Foremother Journey is one of them.
